How I Started In This 'Crazy' Stuff
I'm a guy who is blunt, but not completely without tact. Still, I am a work in progress and, like everyone, always will be. My spiritual path started around 1994, but went on hiatus until around 2008. When the time came that I continued down that path again, friends from my past, as well as new ones, came into my life to aid in the guidance and lessons - the all showed up almost all at once! To be sure, I do not believe in coincidence - I believe everything has purpose and happens for a reason.
In 2008, I met, Sayge. A Shaman, Intuitive and Deep Trance Channeler. He introduced me to Mediumship, teaching me the exercises necessary to help relax and open up - tools in using our intuition (6th sense). Enhancing what is dormant in some, unknowingly used by others and denied existence by many through stubborn fear - even though they may still use it unknowingly, or call it something else. Everyone has it. It simply takes a bit of 'flexing' of that muscle to get it going and keep it going. I started as a skeptic - and I still am a skeptic, but an open-minded skeptic. My skepticism depends more on the 'who' and 'what' of those involved. To be a close-minded skeptic is to deny knowledge and learning overall. It makes one useless really. People must have experiences and make mistakes now and then to learn new things.
Since Sayge's original teachings, I have enjoyed practicing Psychometry (getting information from residual energy on items such as rings), automatic writing/drawing, and channeling (my interest is in conscious channeling). I have been studying deeper meditation, affirmation work, visualization, remote viewing, energy directing, such as Reiki - and several others (for healing purposes), Oracle cards, Tarot Cards, Runes and pendulum dowsing. All these things, and more, deal with energy - and everything IS energy - from our thoughts, to the air we breathe, from our own flesh to the cars we drive.
Being an illustrator, I've decided to create my tool sets, starting with a card set. My 70 Card Divination Deck is my most used card set for performing readings for people at this time. Pendulum charts are another tool I have created and use, as well as cards used with the pendulums.
Psychometry is fun. When I have people asking me about psychometry, I give them something of mine and ask them to tell me the first bits of information that comes to their mind. It is amazing what they say that has a direct relation to my life, or something recently going on in it. I've done readings for people by holding a personal item of theirs, such as a ring, keys or even a silk shawl (though usually metal) - something the person keeps with them, or that has been in their possession for some time - the longer, the better.
I won't beat around the bush - though psychic work isn't a 'science' in and of itself, it has been the subject of debate and it is only within the last few decades finding its place. Metaphysics is explaining a huge amount of what goes on with the psychic world (more than I can write here - look it up!). Conventional science has recently begun to find things that are making them realize there is more to psychic abilities than they originally believed - though the equipment to sufficiently measure this phenomenon is not precise enough to measure what is needed (yet!), through other forms of experiments, the scientists can, and have, deduce that something is present.
I have to laugh at times when people attempt to argue with me about psychic stuff, when what they are really arguing is semantics. Some agree with scientific names that are developed to describe the unknown phenomenon, but if I were to say 'It's psychic!' I'm met with extreme criticism. A rose by any other name is still a rose! I think they just try to get me into arguments - and I'm not one to argue, even if I know I'm right ;)
About Readings
As a note to all, I do not continually read people around me! Aside from the fact it uses energy, I consider this an invasion of privacy that I simply do not do. If anything does come to me when meeting someone, it is usually automatic and specifically information for me, not the person themselves. I can't count how many times I've been asked this. :)
Using psychic gifts takes practice and is very dependent on beliefs, fears, loves, moods, etc... mostly of the unknown. Those who practice may have to do so for days or months to get something - but it WILL happen if you keep practicing and keep emotions out of the equation. If I am having an off day, tired, sick, not in the best of moods, then I may get no info coming to me - or nothing that makes sense. I prefer going into a reading blind ("Don't FEED the psychics!") - not knowing any information about the item I'm holding (even so far as having the person put it in an envelope or wrap it in a napkin) is the best! This makes validation so much more enjoyable. It is beneficial, however, for the person that hands me the item to know something of the history for validation purposes.
Yes, sometimes there is 'vague' information, or info that makes no sense, and other times stuff is right on. Maybe the stars weren't aligned in some cases - I'm not really sure :) There have been times where I'm told later that day, or even week, some info I relayed had occurred.
What follows is an example of a psychometry reading done for a friend over coffee...
Psychometry: <name removed>'s Ring; September, 2010; mid-afternoon
Known History: Ring belonged to her mother who crossed over within the year prior
<name removed> has been wearing the ring since that time.
After the reading, she looked over the list and nothing except the shrinking '$' made sense (she had made a purchase). Later that night, she called me and said details began coming to light shortly after I had left. We met the next day for coffee.
It would seem, shortly after I left that day, flowers came for her from her ex. After a month of not hearing from him - hence him 'trying to come back'. Originally a vague point, yes, however to occur within hours of the reading - after a month - Did I tell you I don't believe in coincidence?! Later that same night, she had dinner with her new boyfriend, and through their rather intense discussion, I'm told she received interesting information from him. His suave ways were a cover for drug related problems and dealings, and a 'hidden life' she had not known about (he had a fiance) - hence the 'drug abuse', '2-faced' and 'schizophrenic' details picked up - simply put, he led a dual life.
Intuition is funny. The more imaginative you are, the better off you are using your intuition. I would have thought imagination would make things difficult. After all, my imagination can be very vivid (an interesting note: someone once told me 300+ messages are sent to people from spirit daily). It is said that spirit sends/receives messages using our imagination as the route for the traffic of information as our logical side has a tendency to reject it - too logical - blocking the information. How do we know if it is us, or spirit? When something is your imagination, you may think of it with no, or a little emotional attachment - these are usually creations of your ego, and any emotions attached to those creations, can eventually fade; but if it is spirit sending the information, there is a good chance it will nag at your mind and emotions until you acknowledge it either by speaking it or writing it down.
An example of this 'nagging': Early in 2010, I received a top-down view, in my head, of a car wrapped around, what looked like, a telephone pole. I received the feeling that the driver had transitioned (died), the backseat passenger was a 'maybe' (no decisive answer) and the passenger in the front survived. The strange part of this is, the front passenger was directly in line with the impacting pole and survived - though banged up badly. This impression stayed with me for over a year. I saw it flash in my mind weekly with little or no extra details - just the accident scene, occupants, a dark night, wet roads came to mind. After a year, I decided to sketch out the accident and write what I could about it in my journal. Since that time, it only comes to mind when I skim though my journal and pass that page.
The reasons that led me to become a Reiki Master were also through my intuition. I had a Reiki treatment over a year prior to becoming a Reiki practitioner. I absolutely loved it, but never saw myself performing Reiki on someone. I remember telling myself that if I were ever to receive the Reiki training, I'd love it to be with the same woman who gave me that treatment as she had such a beautiful energy about her. The role of 'healer', as many called it (I feel that we are more of a 'healing facilitator'), was farthest from my mind however. Fast forward a year later - I made it a practice, upon waking in the morning, to request an image in my mind's eye. Guidance... something to kick start my day. One morning I saw myself performing Reiki on someone (an unrecognizable silhouette of a person laying on a massage table). So I said, "if this is to be - show me." Well, the very next day, the very woman I received the treatment from posted on Facebook that she was holding a class for Level 1 which was coming up in a couple of weeks from that date - AND she had not held a class up until that point due to pregnancy. I felt it was a direction to follow and I did just that.
What Sayge had originally taught me was to, through practice, use my intuition. What this practice does is help me find my own answers. Please understand that I believe what I do as a result of finding those answers through practicing self-reflection, meditating and my life's overall experiences - not from someone feeding me information - these answers are ongoing - never-ending! What I learn today can change tomorrow. What I learn is valid for the 'now' and that means my mind can change with more self-reflection, meditation and experience! :) I am of the opinion that people need to believe in whatever gets them through life - as long as it is from the heart and it does no harm to themselves, or any other living thing and it feels right, they should definitely go for it!
I am not a preachy guy, however, if asked, I will explain how I do some of the intuitive work. In browsing my blog entries, you may find useful details, or tutorials, dealing with opening the intuition that may help you. These methods may or may not work for everyone but could be enough to find your own direction. In some cases, I've had to find, or create my own methods after trying many others and reading lots and lots of books (Oh my! The books!!!) It is personal for each individual, and always will be - no instant magic pill or button to access it just lots and lots of practice and dedication to yourself. But everyone has the gift and everyone is different, progressing at their own pace. If you progress faster than a friend, be patient and supportive to that friend. Be what you would want someone else to be with you. Above all, be persistent and patient with yourself! It will happen if you practice but it can take time.
Randy's Creative World - Artistic Bio
" An illustrator from the Niagara Region, Canada, Randy's work gravitates toward the light-hearted subjects such as animals or nature. A love for sacred geometry may also be seen in his work. On occasions, Randy tackles a more moody and sometimes darker imagery, usually thought provoking visual statements dealing with life in ways people choose to ignore.
Don't be surprised to see subject matter such as zombies, monsters and other weird things crop up. His love of horror, science fiction and fantasy - whether in visual or written form - can be seen in some of his work. As he states, "I need that release once in a while!"
Randy has always been one for that 'zest' of creativity. Since 1990, he held the position of Graphic Designer, Illustrator and later worked as a Video Game Designer for close to a decade. He enjoys the mixture of left and right brain thinking. In the last few years, he decided to start the company Timid Wolf Creations to aid in putting some of his work - much of which remained unseen - out to the public.
The choice medium for Randy's final art has generally been digital. Much of the preliminary work may be done in pen or pencil but there is a certain precision in the work - the symmetry and angles - which are rendered so much cleaner in digital.
In addition, he has also enjoys dabbling in the creativity of scenic and modeling photography."
Outside of the Creative loop:
With an interest in the healing arts, specifically those that deal with life energy, I began practicing meditation back in 2008. This eventually led me into the psychic/intuitive work, but also towards an interest in manipulating energy becoming a 12th lineage Certified Reiki Master/Teacher in the Usui Reiki Shiki Ryōhō Energy Healing Method (2010), as well as a Certified Instructor in the Wu Yi Jie He Family System of 24 Posture Therapeutic QiGong (2014) and an AromaTouch Therapist (2014) which uses essential oils as well as a light back massage along the energy channels of the body (tailbone to base of skull).
The Usui method of Reiki was taught by Reiki Master/Teacher, Natalie Haig, 11th in lineage, of Sacred Breakthroughs located in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. Natalie has such a beautiful energy about her. I highly recommend her to those in the area who may need a boost of energy, or to those who feel a calling to become a Reiki practitioner. This modality concentrates on the 7 major Chakras of the body (Root at the tailbone; Sacral at the navel; Solar Plexus just below sternum; Heart; Throat; Third Eye at the center of the brow; Crown at the top of the head). A Reiki practitioner would concentrate energy at these points using no contact (hands slightly above client) to do a number of things including rejuvenate the Chakras or get it spinning in the proper direction.
I was taught Therapeutic QiGong by my teacher, Sifu George Picard, 4th Generation Tai Chi and QiGong Master in the Wu Yi Jie He Family system of Chinese Healing and Martial Arts out of The Village of Healing and Wellness in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. This wonderful healing method was passed down to my teacher by his, Master's Helen Wu and Simon Hu. This series of 24 postures may be done daily (and encouraged) in about 20 minutes. The number of repetitions may also be increased to lengthen the session. It works on the channels of energy in the body similar to those that acupuncture/acupressure would, while giving the internal organs a massage and flexibility to the body.
In 2012, I became a clinical hypnotherapist, receiving my training at the Peace of Mind Wellness Centre, by Cliff Preston, a practicing Hypnotherapist and Instructor of Hypnotherapy for The Excel Center Hypnotherapy Training College in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. Mr. Preston has been practicing in Ridgeway since 1993 with a much respected reputation for his methods, which are non-threatening and gentle towards his clients - a way of working with clients which I share.
Late 2013, I enrolled and received certification in AromaTouch Therapy. A gentle back massage and foot rub using Eight different essential oils from the doTerra line. This massage concentrates on the energy channels of the body. These channels are the same that one would get acupuncture/acupressure on.
