When speaking to others, whether lover or friend, something that seems to be lacking these days is truth - plain, simple truth. People like to add embellishments and drama to their so-called-truth. Why? These lies come out in the end anyway - they always do! Why would people do this?
Through our desire to have others there in our lives, people sometimes say what they think wants to be heard, which come out in form of half-truths or totally false statements for the purpose of keeping, or pulling others closer.
If you feel the need to speak to someone, speak truthfully!
When speaking your truth, one thing that makes it a blessing is understanding. When there is understanding between two people, two people who know they are speaking truthfully to a separate entity (person) - one that is independent with their own set of circumstances - called life - then these people have just discovered a beautiful thing in each other that will never die.
Some time ago, a good friend and I came to the point in our lives where our relationship could easily have gone either way for us - we are great friends and may have made a good couple. The beautiful fact of our relationship isn't what we decide concerning this possibility - no matter where it stands, what other people think, or what you want to call it - it is the fact that she and I can talk to each other and it is purely truthful. We hide nothing of our feelings or what we want with our own lives - whether it includes each other or not. This led, at times, to either of us becoming upset because those words were not what the other may have wanted to hear, but I would have it no other way as this is what needed to be heard. Our friendship for each other, in this way, has stood the test of time.
Many people give-in to the words of another, in many cases, knowing that these words may not be true. Lulled into false promises, or 'oh yes that dress makes you look fabulous' - with a rolling of the eyes when you turn from them. They put so much hope into their words that it is easy to get lost in them. The truth does, however, always come out at some point - THAT is where the fireworks between two people occur.
So please, when speaking, speak your truth - or say nothing. I want to hear words from the heart - not empty shells in the form of false friendships or promises - the truth will ultimately make you the beautiful person you are striving to be.
